At the dispatch of the Revised National Youth Policy, 2019 which occurred in Akure, Ondo State on May 24th, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, in a foreword introduced at the dispatch, unveiled that the age section for the arrangement of youth in Nigeria has been looked into descending from 18 – 35 years to 15 – 29 years.
Dalung in his foreword, expressed that the age arrangement must be audited descending with the goal that each national government mediation projects intended for adolescents will get to the young people themselves and not grown-ups taking on the appearance of youth.
As indicated by the Minimum Age Convention (1973), the general least age for admission to business or work in Nigeria is 15 years. The United Nations characterizes 'youth' as people between the ages of 15 and 24 years.
