Breaking: JAMB releases 2019 UTME result, 34,120 withheld


The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

CHannels TV reports that the results of the examination were released on Saturday, May 11.

Professor Ishaq Oloyede who is the registrar of JAMB made the announcement in Abuja.

According to his release, 1,792,719 candidates sat for the exams, while 34,120 candidates had their results withheld for examination malpractice .

The registrar of the board also said 15,145 results were withheld for further clarification.

Meanwhile, JAMB on Sunday, May 5, said it had secured conviction of five persons who were involved in examination fraud and malpractice during the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The five persons were among the 100 suspects arrested by security operatives nationwide during the UTME last month, The Nation reports.

They are expected to serve between three months and two years jail term.
